Meet the Mini Starz!
The Mini Starz are our youngest Power Force Company Class. They have been working very hard on their jazz dance, "I Like to Move It." And these girls REALLY like to move it! In tap they are reviewing shuffles, shuffle hop toe and shuffle step. They are practicing doing all of those at a faster pace and in center floor without the barre to hold on to. They are also learning shuffle ballchange.
If you see a Mini Star in the Lobby, be sure to ask them how many sounds are in a shuffle. They know!

Upcoming Performances
We are less than a month away from our performances at the AZ State Fair and ZooWalk for Autism, at the Phoenix Zoo. Both of these performances are on Saturday, October 17th. It's going to be a busy morning but we'll all be done by noon and then can enjoy the rest of the day.
We are excited to have so many brand new dances to perform on October 17th! All of the Company classes have been working very hard to accomplish this in a short period of time.
We are doing 2 shows at the ZooWalk this year. You will need to be at the Phoenix Zoo no later than 30 minutes before your performance time. When we get closer to the show date we will designate a meeting place at the Zoo.
Our show time at the Fair is approximately 11am. We need to be there as close to 10:30 am as possible. Please drive safely from the Zoo to the Fairgrounds and be there as close to 10:30 am as you can. Check the schedule to see which dances you are performing at each show. We will have Fair Entrance tickets for dancers only that will be passed out the week of the 17th. See Robin for information about discount Fair tickets for other family members and friends.
We would be very grateful for any monetary contribution we can make to the ZooWalk for Autism. Please let Miss Amy or Miss Kaley know if you'd like to make a donation. Little or big it's all very appreciated by the families who have children with Autism. This event is special for my family because my 10 year old son has Autism. This developmental disorder now affects 1 in 150 kids every year and over 90 of those are boys. There is no cure and the effects Autism has on a child vary over a broad spectrum. This fundraiser at the Zoo helps fund continuing research at ASU by Professor Jim Adams as well as at the Autism Research Institute in California. These groups work endlessly trying to find new means and therapies that can help our kids connect with and function in society. For more information go to zoowalk.org.
We appreciate your support of these performances very much! It's going to be a Fantastic Day!

Welcome Back Dancers!
Our first week back is going great! It was fun to welcome so many new faces to our Power Force Company! We can't wait to get to know you all! If you haven’t received an email from us in the past please let Miss Amy know (missamy.dance@gmail.com) so she can put you on the email list.
Make sure you read through this year's Company Contract thoroughly. We always throw in a change here and there. Please return the Sign-off Sheet and your $15.00 Company fee (payable to Amy Grover) by Thursday, August 20th.
Miss Tabitha and Miss Kaley are our new Tumbling Dynamic Duo teaching the Beg./Int. and Advanced Tumbling. We'd love to have these classes full to the brim to help give our Company Kids another leg up on the competition. We've been waiting a long time for back handsprings in our Opening Number. . . Sign up for either class time and they'll have you back flipping for fun in no time!
If you're interested in performing at Disney's California Adventure this year (November 21st) let Miss Amy know ASAP. For Companies #2-6, we need to get a head count to see if we have enough to fill a show. Sadly, our Company #1 girls are not old enough yet to go so we'll just have to keep practicing our shuffles and wait until next time! More information about the California Adventure performance and fundraising opportunities for this trip will be coming the next few weeks.
Thanks again for all you do!
